Uncommon Gadgets
Products presented in this article should be definitely named “uncommon”. We will discuss about a walking robot, a book that is a little bit different than others (you will see why) and about another type of robot, named the Robox.
These products were mentioned yesterday too, when we were also asked to write about some unusual gadgets. Back then, I have said that I will present them and I will also mention the opinion of those that have already bought them from thinkgeek.com, the place from where you can buy them too.

Even though I have said we are going to present a walking robot, this is in fact a pencil sharpener. It is true, indeed it looks like a robot and indeed it walks, only that its function is to sharpen pencils. In fact, the robot lives only if it eats pencils and is capable of walking when it has eaten enough. It is pretty interesting and what is even more interesting is its price. We are talking about $2.99; its original price was of $9.99. If you want and need a pencil sharpener, here is your chance of buying a really unique product. Those that have bought it are simply addicted to it and sometimes they sharpen their pencils, even though they don't need this, only to see their little robot walking on their desks.

The book I’ve mentioned in the second paragraph is “F in Exams” ($9.95). Obviously, if you look at the image, you will understand better this is something like a gag gift. Who wants to get an F? This is a collection of wrong answers, designed to generate laughter. The author, Richard Benson, has collected 250 of the best examples for maximum humor. Chronicle Books is the publisher. Many people say the book is amazing; one of the users says that this is an OK book, only that not all the jokes are funny. This particular user also says that plenty of jokes can be found online and the difference is that you will not have to pay for them, like you do in the case of this book. It is your choice. I recommend this book to a person that doesn't use the Internet or doesn't want to use it for entertainment purposes. Instead of checking jokes online, it is more comfortable for some to simply browse a book.

The last product is the Robox Mega Kit, designed for explorers, innovators and dreamers. This product comes with 19 pieces that will help you build your very own Robox, that is around 16 inches tall. Also a fully illustrated storybook is included.

Unusual Cool Gadgets
If you want some more unusual gifts, here are 3 products that can be bought from thinkgeek.com. I said “more”, because yesterday we have presented 3 of them as well. You can find them too, if you enter thinkgeek.com and type “unusual” in the Search box.
Unusual Cool Gadgets (Source: thinkgeek.com)
The first product about which we will discuss today is the glow-in-the-dark Mars mud. This is an unusual gift for children, that tears, stretches, bounces and obviously glows in the dark. However, you must supervise your child when playing with this gift, because it presents a choking hazard, due to the small parts contained by it, which are definitely not suitable for a 3-year-old child. This “mud” is in fact an inorganic polymer, that has a weird behavior, because sometimes it is solid and other times, it transforms into a liquid. Until now, no one has reviewed this product.

The next one is the Splat Stan Coaster, which is a victim of a tragic drinking incident. Well, not exactly “tragic”, because as you can see the mug is placed on a side of the “victim”. Developers of this product wanted to name the “victim” Stan like most English people are named. This unusual drink coaster is made from silicon rubber and has 4.5 x 5.1 x 8″. It is designed by SUCK UK and it is related to the Fred items, so popular in the United Kingdom. If you want to see how Stan looks like when he had one too many, buy this product and you will see this for real. This product too doesn't benefit of reviews, the only comment regarding it being related to its price; one of the users of thinkgeek.com asks if for the price of $9.99 you will receive more than just one mug. Obviously, this is only the price for one.

The last product is the blue violet laser pointer. Although it may not seem like much, it is really expensive: $169.99. In the case of this gadget, roses are red, lasers are violet blue. Someone that has bought this product compares it with the lightsabers created for the Star Wars fanatics. In general, laser pointers use a red or a green light. Well, the time for a new color has landed and now the most appreciated color is the violet one. This product has a 405nm wavelength and uses an output power of <5mW. It needs 2 CR2, 3V batteries (not included). The manufacturer offers 6 months warranty. Besides the fact that this gadget looks awesome, it is also great for biomedical instrumentation, spectroscopy, imaging, microscopy and laser induced fluorescence sensing.

There, I’ve named them all. Obviously, we will not have enough room in a single article to discuss about 14 products; this is why today I will start by presenting only 3 of them. Tomorrow I will present another 3 and so on, until all of them will be presented. Also the opinions of those that have bought them will be mentioned.
Unusal Gadgets (Source: thinkgeek.com)
Let's start with something that really caught my attention: the molecular cocktails starter kit. I don't know if you are attracted too to creating cocktails, but I have to acknowledge that I am, especially when they have these beautiful colors, as in the above image. And when the word “unusual” is in order, I’m there to find out what is all about. The manufacturer of this product has created even a video that can be watched on YouTube. Search for “Molecular Mixology by Biozoon”. This company allows you to take your cocktails to the next level. Some of the aromas included in this kit are: Locuzoon 5 g (locust bean gum), Algizoon 60 g (sodium alginate), Calazoon 75 g (calcium lactate) and Illuzoon 4 g (coloring agent). With them, you can make incredible cocktails and amaze your friends. Customers of this product are extremely enthusiastic about it and they say it works amazingly.

The second unusual gadget presented in this list is a weird gaming dice set, that contains several dice like you have never seen before, such as for example a 3-sided die, 5-sided, 14-sided and even an 100-sided die. Can you imagine a die that has 100 sides? A person that has bought this product says that they look pretty, but they can annoy a person that wants to see what is the number showed by the die, especially if we are talking about one that has so many sides.

For the end, I have selected the ER Beat LED Digital Watch, that is a perfect gift for a healthcare professional or student. It is not a heart rate monitor; it simply tells you the time.

Gadget Tools
Tools are very important for men, but also for women. In order to make them attractive to the ladies, they have to be vividly colored and easy-to-use. Luckily, on thinkgeek.com, there are plenty of gadgets like this, which can be used by women as well.
Gadget Tools (Source: thinkgeek.com)
1. We will begin with this steel wallet tools set, that has a minimum price of $6.99 and a maximum one of $9.99. This is, as its own manufacturer describes it, a “micro toolbox in your billfold”. Let's see more. As you can see, this product looks like a credit or debit card, but it is in fact a spanner wrench, a bottle opener, ice scraper and guitar tool. This credit card sized tool turns hex head bolts without a wrench, because it works itself as a wrench, removes ice from your windshield in a pinch, thanks to its stainless steel construction, opens standard bottles in a snap, also because of its materials used for its fabrication and stores your guitar picks until you need them.

2. This next product is integrated in the Tools category on thinkgeek.com, this is why I also want to present it. It is not a tool, like the previous product, but more a tool for your brain. This is in fact a book, called “Mind Hacks”, that is $24.95. It is written by Tom Stafford and Matt Webb and was released in 2004. It was published by O'Reilly Media Inc. If you will buy this book, you will have the possibility of testing your handedness, of detecting sounds on the margins of certainty, of feeling the presence of attention and also its loss, of seeing movement when everything is still and many others. The authors say that after reading this book, you will be more capable of using your brain, because you will experience a boost of your memory and your understanding of the details will be improved. Also the limits of the attention will be enlarged.

3. They say simplicity is timeless, but if you don't use this Gerber Artifact Pocket Keychain Tool, you will not understand the meaning of this statement. It is $9.99 and represents in fact 8 useful tools in a minimalist package, not only one. It should have been named tools set in this case. Let's see what this baby can do. First of all, you can use its blade in order to cut all sorts of things, then you can use it as a wire stripper, bottle opener, medium flat driver, pry bar, lanyard hole and cross driver. It is made from stainless steel and has a titanium nitrate coating.

Fun Gadgets To Build At Home
Even though the term “gadgets” refers to something that may not be connected to the handmade products, there are in fact a lot of handmade gadgets on the market. And today, we will present several of them. I will let you find the method of creating them.

1. I will start by presenting this large butterfly hairpin, which is available on notonthehighstreet for 60 GBP. As you can see, you can save a lot of money, simply by creating a hairpin by yourself. For this, Emma Ginnever Jewelry, the workshop that has created this beautiful hair accessory has used sterling silver, handcrafted with a frosted finish. Its creator even gives us the exact details regarding this product, so if you have 92.5 sterling silver commissions taken in platinum and gold, you can obtain a product just like this. The wingspan of the butterfly is of 4.3 cm. Now you can realize why this product is so expensive, because the metals are very expensive as well. Instead of commissions from platinum and gold, you can use very cheap metals and you can create not only butterflies, but everything that crosses your mind.

2. The second product is another one that can be made at home, this time a little bit easier. You can see this only by looking at its image and price. This is the tweed Alice band, designed by KatieMosa. It is sold for 12.99 GBP, but it can be definitely cheaper if you would create it by yourself. This is an eco-friendly product and makes the perfect gift for a golf child, girlfriend or niece. The width of the band is of 2.5 cm. It is great for those times when you are applying makeup on your face or simply when you want to keep your hair off your face.

3. This is the cheapest product presented in this article. It is the jelly drop hair clip, manufactured by Ilovehearts and sold for 4.99 GBP. As you can see, the product looks so sweet and juicy. You can select from their 3 flavors: orange, lemon or strawberry. The approximate size of the hair clip is of 6.3 cm or 2.5 inches, if you prefer this measurement unit. You can add a little foodie fun to your outfit every day by wearing something like this.
I don't know about you but I prefer the accessories that are made from usual materials, such as cotton, feathers, leather, wool or others, not from food. But who knows, probably there are people that would wear the previous product; this is why I have mentioned it. What do you say, would you wear something like this?
